Rap Scene (2010)

As a long time UK hip-hop fan I wanted to use the opportunity I had as a photographer to delve deeper into the London rap scene that I had spent my teenage years participating in and listening to. This series was intended to capture both a sense of the public and private personas behind some of the individuals.

This project would not have happened were it not for the support and generosity of Melanin 9, who is also the subject of the short film at the bottom of this page. Incidentally, that film was the first that I’d ever made.
